Melbourne-based folk singer Joyce Prescher delivers poetic lyrics and haunting melodies in an intimate performance exploring concepts of home, identity, love and death.

Join her for her December residency at the Merri Creek Tavern. Each week she will be joined by two beautiful artists. These nights promise to be intimate and breathtaking and are not to be missed.

Taylah Carroll * Taylah Carroll shares unashamed and frank tales of her own coming of age and reflections of what it is to be human, set against a nostalgic soundscape that draws inspiration from vintage films and dreamy folk/rock.

Taylah’s music wants to reach out and hold her audience, whilst at the same time waking them up to the anxieties, fears and love that both plague and embellish our lives, highlighting the commonality of all human experience through a nuanced and detailed lens.

Taylah has been honing her craft of song-writing and performance through a series of recent shows across Victoria, including performances at Fitzroy’s The Workers Club, and The Wesley Ann, as well as a slot at Let Go Fest alongside Gang of Youths and The Middle Kids.

A whale called phoenix * AWCP are a four-piece indie, acoustic based band from Melbourne. Forming in 2012 as a duo, life-long friends Jimmy (Phoenix) Pollock and Anthony Nero set out to record songs and music videos using their iPhones in an attempt to capture more “honest” sounds away from studio trickery.

In 2014, the pair began playing live and unplugged in more and more unconventional settings – lounge rooms, backyards, record stores, warehouse parties, giant bean bag factories and in a two-man inflatable boat sailing down a water catchment drain in the middle of nowhere suburbia.

In the summer of 2015, Nero and Phoenix took their sound to a string of pubs and bars in St Kilda where they would play to their wives, Jimmy’s mum and various house sound guys. Great times had by all!

More recently, AWCP set upon the mysterious Heatherton Trail to find some extra magic to widen their sound. This came in the shape of long-time compadres Anthony ‘Quesadilla’ Casey on bass and Ian ‘George Rat’ Moran on drums.
